Please Note.Editing, updating, configuring, or in any way altering the BIOS on your machine is a hazardous undertaking. It should not be undertaken lightly or without understanding, and if at all possible you should have a method to recover the system in case of a critical problem. It can be assumed that there is about a one to two percent chance that an attempt to flash the BIOS device will fail. Your ability to recover from a failed update will depend to a great extent upon the type of motherboard. One backup measure would be to order a new pre-programmed BIOS chip from a reliable vendor (unless your chip is soldered in). In no event do any of the makers or purveyors of any of this software assume any responsibility whatsoever for the use or misuse of any of the programs, associated documents, or instructions. Use of these products is entirely at the users' risk. You will need one or more of the commonly available utilities to expand compressed archives, such as tar, PKUNZIP or WinZip, etc. Most are distributed as source. Programs may need to be compiled, and have their individual installation procedures. The various packages are at different levels of maturity and completeness, and I cannot certify that they are worthwhile for any particular purpose. You will have to judge for yourself, but there is a lot to choose from.
