This is a collection of packages to help operators of Windows systems to be in better control of their systems. There are many programs and processes that are initiated at startup time. Many of these are legitimate and necessary. However, you may have programs started at this time that you would not want. This can be from viruses or spyware. It can be programs left behind from interaction with web sites, scanners for automatic updates, or simply relics of packages incompletely uninstalled.Cleaning up unwanted startup items can improve security of your system, improve performance and startup speed, and in some cases remove irritating programs. The programs on this CD can make it much easier to be in control of the Windows startup sequence. However, editing startup options should be approached with caution; a good resource for guidance is the web site http://sysinfo.org/startuplist.php.Some packages are distributed in the form of compressed archives, for example .zip files. The buyer is expected to be prepared to expand these files with a program such as PKUNZIP or WinZip or 7-zip, and possibly follow some installation instructions. The 7-zip program is included on the CD.
